Jenna Fischer has become best well-known as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna grew up watching her mother, Anne, in church productions. The experience instilled a passion for theater.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her home base. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons to Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer starred. In Steve Martin's latest show Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer launched Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf in October 2019. The podcast has been hugely successful, reaching in the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads within its initial two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year Award in the month of January in 2021.
She has written two books, The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide in which she describes her path to Hollywood as an actor in the field as well as Office BFF's, Tales of The Office From Two Great Friends who Were There, an account of the most memorable relationship they shared and their time in The Office.
